The Ingenuity Frontier Fund
The Northwest Minnesota Foundation has established the Ingenuity
Frontier Fund as one of its key
components. Through this fund, charitable contributions and corporate
investments will help realize
the vision of Ingenuity Frontier.
The Ingenuity Frontier Fund will rely on the expertise of an advisory
committee to oversee the use of its resources. Administration of
the fund will be the responsibility of the foundation.
The overall target for Ingenuity Frontier is to raise $1,169,087
over the course of the next two years, which will help to meet the
following three goals:
1.) Increase the pool of manufacturing
and engineering talent in northwest Minnesota
These dollars will fund Project Lead The Way programs, establish
scholarship and internship opportunities, and create valuable education
experiences for young people throughout Ingenuity Frontier. They
will also work to create new applied engineering degrees at Bemidji
State University.
2.) Promote a culture of manufacturing and engineering
innovation in northwest Minnesota
These dollars will be used to establish a Center for Advanced
and Emerging Technology. Bemidji State University has identified
a site for the research center on campus and over $16 million has
been invested in the facility. Ingenuity Frontier is committed to
ensuring that the center has top-of-the-line staffing, technology
and equipment.
3.) Brand northwest Minnesota as a hub of manufacturing
and engineering talent and innovation
These dollars will help to create brand awareness
of Ingenuity Frontier
through public relations, advertising and marketing.
